Frequently Asked Questions

Can I practice with my family or friends?

Absolutely! The right kind of practice will speed your learning. Make sure you meet all the legal and safety requirements:

After a few lessons, usually after you’ve got the hang of the emergency stop (you won’t have dual controls at home!), your instructor will suggest that it’s a good time to start private practice, and will advise you what to practice, and where.

Cars and traffic conditions have changed, so you’re expected to drive differently from the way your parents were taught. We’ll point out the key differences so you can practice the right thing.

You might like to have a parent come along to watch a lesson so they know how you should be driving and what’s expected of them.

REMEMBER—practice makes PERMAMENT. You’ll only be perfect if you’ve practiced the right thing. A combination of private practice with professional lessons to keep you on track is the best way to learn.
